A Sutter Health executive who oversaw nine hospitals in the Sacramento region has departed from the health system.

Grant Davies, former CEO of Sutter's Valley Area Hospitals division, left his post with Sacramento-based Sutter Health in October, according to his LinkedIn page.

Davies is now president and CEO of Addison, Texas-based Solis Mammography, according to the company’s website. Solis is one of the nation’s largest providers of breast imaging services and has more than 60 locations, the majority of which are in Texas and Arizona.

Davies had been a longtime executive with Sutter, starting as chief operating officer for Sutter’s Marin General Hospital in 2001. He spent the last 17 years holding executive positions at Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and Sutter’s North Bay Hospitals division. Davies had been CEO of Sutter's Valley Area Hospitals for the last four years.

Sutter Health appears to be conducting a search for a new CEO for its Valley Area Hospitals division, and has posted a job listing for the position.

The Valley Area Hospitals division includes medical centers in Sacramento, Roseville, Auburn, Davis, Solano, Tracy, Jackson, Modesto and Los Banos, according to Sutter’s website. The position also oversees the Sutter Institute for Medical Research, Sutter's continuing care services and a center for psychiatry.

Representatives of Sutter Health confirmed that Davies departed in October, but did not provide further comment on his departure. Davies did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Valley Area Hospitals accounted for roughly a quarter of Sutter Health's $12 billion in revenues in 2017. That year, the division brought in $3.1 billion in revenues and had income of $328 million, according to Sutter's most recent nonprofit tax records.
