Ryan Ashlock to remain part of Adventist Health Castle "to facilitate a smooth leadership transition."

Earlier this week, Adventist Health Castle announced it will lead a comprehensive search to find its next president and CEO.

The new leader will replace Ryan Ashlock, who will assume the role of president of Adventist Health’s Central Coast service area in California in June, but he “will remain closely involved in the local organization, serving as vice chair of the Castle Community Board,” it was announced April 22.

According to the announcement, in this role on the board "for the foreseeable future," Ashlock “will facilitate a smooth leadership transition, contribute to advancing the organization’s goals, maintain the momentum of its initiatives and support the care the Adventist Health Castle team provides daily.”

“Working alongside the team at Adventist Health Castle has been one of the most rewarding experiences to date of my professional career,” Ashlock said in a statement. “I am incredibly proud of all we have achieved together and am confident that Adventist Health Castle is positioned well for continued success for years to come.”

Representatives of Adventist Health Castle told Pacific Business News by email, “Ryan will continue contributing to our efforts in Hawaii as the vice chair of the Castle Community Board. After ensuring a smooth transition with the new president, Ryan will not manage day-to-day leadership at Adventist Health Castle.”

“Staying involved at this level allows him to keep contributing to the organization’s goals, maintaining the positive momentum of its work and supporting the incredible care Adventist Health Castle provides every day,” the hospital’s representatives said.

Ashlock became president of Adventist Health Castle in 2021, after serving as the operations executive for two years. During his tenure, Ashlock spearheaded the organization’s investment of $62 million in advancing technologies and improving quality of care.

As previously reported by PBN, in January, Adventist Health Castle became a verified Level III Trauma Medical Center, and more recently, in April, opened an expanded urgent care clinic in Kapolei.

Adventist Health Castle’s next president and CEO will be responsible for overseeing all operations, strategic planning, financial performance and community engagement.

“They are responsible for leading the executive team, ensuring high-quality patient care, fostering a positive work environment and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards,” representatives of the hospital said. “Additionally, they play a pivotal role in developing partnerships, serving on community boards, contributing to philanthropic efforts and advancing the organization's mission and values.”

Regarding the hiring process for Adventist Health Castle's next president and CEO, the hospital's representatives added, "the organization internal talent searches for its executive recruitment, ensuring a comprehensive and strategic approach to find the best candidates."

“Adventist Health Castle is deeply committed to serving the health needs of Hawaii. … We are committed to enhancing our services and facilities to transform the health experience of our community.”

Adventist Health’s “mission is to live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope. Growth strategies for the organization are centered around the communities Adventist Health serves by improving physical, mental and spiritual health, enhancing interactions and making care more accessible and affordable.”
